Apologies!!

WOW!! Time got lost on me this summer; I can’t believe it’s been nearly 2 months since I posted!

Right now, Summer Camp has ended, and as most people the regular school year commenced this week. This means, life is gaining some organization, whilst losing organization at other ends. Currently I reside in the same boat, unfortunately for us all, as other employees who’ve lost all or some of their job. My time has currently been spent nannying for a wonderful family, whilst interviewing as much as possible.

As far as Knitting goes, I finished the purse commissioned by the girl I nanny. Here’s the finished product.

I also spent a few days creating a pillow + sleeping bag for her American Girl doll; the sleeping bag needs the other side finished…I sort of puttered out.

As well as both blankets for my nephews. I set a date for October 20th to have Lane’s finished.

On the shelf, I finished The Memory Keeper’s Daughter a few weekends ago, and it was an upsetting but good book. It’s hard to believe such tragic instances actually took place, and not that long ago!

Softball ended last week, and can I say I’m glad; it go to a point where I wasn’t interested and plateaued with improvement. Running seems to have started on the same non-improvement path, as well. I did, however run a 10K (6.3 Miles) the end of August and was pleased with a time of 1 hr 16 minutes. The Half Marathon my friend + I have been training for is merely 23 days away!!

My brother, Andrew + his family moved home, from Oklahoma 3 weeks ago; it has been great to spend time with them, especially my niece + nephew. Saturday, Andrew ships out to Korea for a year tour, Army. We’ve been taking advantage of our limited time together by going running, and when he leaves I’ll miss him. Never would I have thought he + I would run 6 miles together, still living! LOL.

Going the Extra Mile

I just can’t seem to keep up with house work, mostly anything not consisting of running, biking or softball. The weather here in Michigan has been steamy and slightly miserable, yet I find myself soaking up all the sunshine rays I can.

Monday I ran alone on the trail, a converted railroad track; a run I hadn’t been able to accomplish to my liking alone. With surprise, I completed a 4 mile run in 50 minutes. How great I felt!! Then, today I told my running buddy I’d like to run 5. And, I began to run with my heart, rather than my head. We completed the run in 1 hour and 2 minutes – well, to be fair, Adam finished the last mile 4 minutes before me.

Just last week I was ready to completely give up on running or training for the half marathon in September, but keeping this mindset and drive I’ll totally be ready!!

Fruits and veggies are starting to have great sale prices, so I scored some blueberries, cherries and strawberries that I washed on bagged for the freezer so I can enjoy fresh fruit come winter. I’m picky, I don’t care for canned fruit or expensive prices for store bought frozen goods.

I’m busy with softball practice and game, babysitting, work, running/biking and getting some knitting in the rest of this week and weekend. What are you all up to??
